FAQs

Q) What are your hours of operation?

You can also speak with our administrative staff on Fridays by calling the office or stopping by between 8am and 2pm. Q) Does your office use lasers?
Yes. Dr. Fava is trained in laser dentistry, and our office is equipped with both DIAGNOdent laser cavity detection and soft-tissue lasers for gum procedures such as periodontal therapy and gum contouring. Dental lasers have greatly improved dental care, especially for those who suffer from dental anxiety. Dental lasers increase comfort, promote faster healing, reduce bleeding, and give Dr. Fava greater precision when performing procedures.
Q) My gums bleed after I brush. Should I be concerned?
If you ever experience bleeding of the gums, contact our Brampton dental office immediately and make an appointment. Bleeding could be a sign of one of two problems, either brushing too hard or gum disease. If you’re brushing too hard, we can help you learn techniques to better care for your soft tissues. If it’s gum disease, we want to begin treating the problem as soon as possible. Gum disease is the number one cause of tooth loss in American adults, so don’t hesitate to have your bleeding gums checked out and treated at Torbram Dental.
Q) How do I know when it’s time to come in for a checkup?
At your first appointment in our office, we’ll make a recommendation about how often you should come in for checkups. Our recommendation will be based partially on your overall dental health. It is recommended that healthy adults visit our office every six months for a checkup and cleaning, but those with gum disease are encouraged to come in more often.
Q) What steps can I take at home to prevent gum disease?
Preventing gum disease is one of our main goals at Torbram Dental. It is recommended that you brush your teeth twice a day and floss at least once a day in order to prevent gum disease. Make sure you’re cleaning along the gum line, and don’t press too hard with your toothbrush – this can irritate gums, leaving them exposed to infiltration by toxins. Flossing helps remove disease-causing debris and bacteria from between teeth. If you would also like to use a mouthwash as part of your oral hygiene routine, ask us for a recommendation. Has it been more than six months since your last dental appointment? Or are you concerned about your gum health? Contact our Brampton, Ontario dental office today to schedule an appointment with Dr. Vince Fava. We welcome patients from surrounding communities, including Mississauga, Georgetown, and Woodbridge, and we’d be happy to help you achieve excellent oral health as well.
Q) Is the practice active within the community?
Those who have been visiting the practice for a long time are likely aware of the many different community events we host on a regular basis. Whether it’s events focused on giving free treatments to those in need or showing our gratitude to patients of the practice, there’s no shortage of community events hosted by Torbram Dental! To see exactly which events we’ve put on so far, you can browse our dedicated page where photos and descriptions are present for each event.
Q) How do I know what my teeth will look like after cosmetic treatment?
If you are pursuing a particularly extensive restorative or cosmetic treatment to transform your smile, it’s understandable if you feel hesitant at first, especially if you’ve had poor experiences with dentists in the past. As a way to improve your confidence of our dentists’ abilities, we’ve included a smile gallery highlighting a few of the most significant transformations we’ve performed at the practice so far. This includes porcelain veneers, dental implants and other treatments that can help you achieve the smile of your dreams.
Q) Can I expedite the new patient process?
We understand that many patients don’t want to waste time sitting in the dental office during the new patient process. After you’ve made your appointment as a new patient, the next best step to make is to visit our new patient page. In it, you’ll find new patient forms which you can download and fill out on your own time. Once it’s time for your dental appointment, you can simply hand in your completed form when you arrive and decrease your overall wait time.
Q) How do you plan my dental implant treatment?
It’s no secret that dental implants have multiple steps to consider. Their planning requires a high level of detail to be successful, which is why we include so many relevant technologies in the office. Part of your treatment planning involves digital x-rays, which make it easier to examine the most important oral structures efficiently and safely. This includes your jawbone and nerves, two areas we need to be extremely conscious of when placing implants. Our 3D CT scans provide a 360-degree view of your oral structures, making it even easier to confirm the locations of certain oral structures and the overall shape of your bite. We also create 3D surgical guides, which increase the predictability of your placement, improve precision, and give you the highest chances of successful implantation.
Q) Does your practice see children?
Yes! Children have unique needs when it comes to dentistry. Not only do their primary teeth need to be carefully examined regularly for potential problems, but the overall development of their entire mouth and jaw deserves close attention. While our office typically sees patients as young as three years of age, we’re more than happy to see your child sooner if you notice any signs of problems. During their first visit, we’ll discuss important habits to maintain, how you can protect them from cavity development in between routine visits, and important treatments you may want to consider (i.e. dental sealants and fluoride treatments.)
